February 2011 — "We spent the weekend at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn for a retreat we were participating in. When we first walked into our room, I was a little surprised by how old they looked. However, after the first night I realized that it was extremely clean and the beds were possibly the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in, in a hotel. The only complaint I would have would be the heat settings in the rooms. Each room comes with it's own fan for you to use as it can get a little warm at night and you have no temperature control. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and really bent over backwards to make our stay perfect. The Meatball restaurant on site has amazing thin crust pizzas with unique toppings that must be tried and the rest of the menu did not disappoint. I would highly recommend this hotel just based on the customer service, food and beds alone, but the location in the town of Banff is perfect as well. Starbucks was just around the corner and the main street of Banff right out the front door when we felt we needed a break. It was a fabulous weekend and we have already booked our October retreat there. Looking forward to going back!"

"Hotel at great price and location"

August 2010 — "We stayed at the Ptarmigan Inn for four nights and were very happy overall. I booked here because the cost was a fraction of what it would have been to stay at the conference center, and in hind sight, I would have paid more to be here rather than up the hill at the Bannf Centre. The hotel was right on Banff Ave, so it was only about 5 minutes to anywhere in town. The room we had booked was the cheapest available, where we were supposed to have a balcony facing the lobby. Upon arrival we had a outside balcony at no charge, and ended up paying $160 a night for two queens which was very reasonable for high season in Banff. The hotel also has a nice sauna, steam room, weights and hot tub. They also have free parking and wifi in the rooms. They also included a pass for the Banff transit system that we could have used to get around or up to hiking locations if we decided to do so. I will certainly make use of this hotel again and will continue to recommend it as a great option."

"Very Comfortable Beds!"

December 2005 — "I stayed at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn for two nights last December. The hotel was visually pleasing and it was convenient that there was both a restaurant and a lounge located on the premises. Our room was quite large and had a nice mountain view. The thing that sticks out in my mind the most is how comfortable the bed was. It had a featherbed on top of the matress and a down duvet... I didn't want to get out of bed at all! Perhaps that was because it was -40C when we were there (an unusual coldsnap). The only problem I had with the hotel is that it was rather chilly in the room, no matter how high we turned the temperature. Thank goodness for the duvets. Also, our TV broke and it took awhile to get another one brought into the room, since the hotel was full. They did find one though, so that was nice! "
