February 2011 — "Deciding on a spa weekend, we headed to the Fairmont Banff Springs. With the prestige the Banff Springs has, we had never previously stayed there and weren't really sure as to what to expect. The drive to Banff from Calgary is always an easy one and good for a weekend get away. When we arrived to the hotel, we pulled up to the front where we were greeted by a bellman who provided us with a parking pass for the self-parking area. There was also the option of valet parking, but we opted for the more affordable option. The bellman also called to the front desk to advise them that we had arrived and prepare them for our check in. The entire checkin process was easy, and the staff were very professional and friendly. In fact, it seemed that the staff would greet us where ever we were the entire time of our stay. We stayed in a jr. suite room which offered a King size bed and 2 sofas. The sofas also acted as pull out beds in the event that you required additional sleeping quarters. The view from our bedroom was spectacular, offering views of the crisp air and mountain range. We had an unbelievable experience at the Springs, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. For a little weekend indulgence, we would highly recommend staying at the Banff springs."

"Willowstream Spa Package--Simply the Best!"

July 2006 — "Have heard so much about the Willowstream Spa that's available at select Fairmont locations around the world! Lucky enough, we have a location right here in Alberta! My friend and I decided to go on a "girls' getaway" trip, and chose a pampering, 2 night stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs. The room was an extra large room with 2 comfortable Queen beds, so it was nice to have our own bed. However, I must say that the outdated furniture was in some disrepair, but the spaciousness made up for that! The package is inclusive of an extensive buffet breakfast each morning, 1 60 minute Willowstream spa treatment per person per night from a select list (average cost of treatment is about $149), valet parking, unlimited access into the Spa (usually a $59 daily charge), and all gratuities (15%). My friend and I each booked ourselves for a facial on day one, and a stone massage on the 2nd day. We really enjoyed using the mineral pool, whirlpools, sauna, and steam room. The ladies' locker is out of this world--all done in granite counters and cherry wood millwork, and everything from disposable razors to several types of shower gel and shampoo, flat irons, and mouth wash is provided. There's also a fabulous, soothing co-ed lounge where we relaxed prior to our treatments where you can help yourself to treats (home made cookies during our visit) and fresh fruit, and sip herbal teas and/or cucumber infused mineral water. Or, you can choose to relax in front of the fireplace or just enjoy the fabulous mountain view. Yes, it's a pricey package but the location, ambience, ammenities, and quality of the service are all impeccable and decadent. And had we not booked the package, it would have cost an extra $200. Absolutely NO comparison to the day spas that are found locally. This is an experience that can't be missed! I loved it so much, I'm going back next week on the same package but this time with my husband as a belated anniversary trip!"
