April 2011 — "Originally I had booked with the Aspen Lodge because it was reasonably priced, just what we needed and close to the centre of Banff. When we arrived the girls at the desk were fairly helpful and efficient. Once we got to the third floor, where our room was indicated to be, it was somewhat strange. We did not realize the way the hotel was set up required us to go outside (almost motel style) to get to our room. The walking outside wasn't a big deal however and it ended up being quite neat as we were able to see the hot tubs in the middle below. When we opened our door to the room we were shocked at how lovely it was! We had only twin beds which were more than sufficient and very comfortable, but an immaculate and relatively large room. The room set up was very practical with separate living and sleeping areas and a bathroom area with 2 personal sinks (both outside the washroom) in the middle section of the room. We even had our own private patio in addition to the common patio that is used when you enter the room. The living space included a couch with a pull out bed, a lounge chair, a dining table and 2 chairs plus a TV and the sleeping space had, as mentioned two twin beds, and another TV. Another nice thing about the Lodge was their commitment to the environment and eco-friendly suggestions throughout the room. We attempted to use the "spa" like facilities but found the hot tubs very crowded, the sauna however we had all to ourselves and it was quite enjoyable. There was a great complimentary breakfast which although supplied simple continental breakfast options was well organized and in a very nice sit down restaurant style space. Very good place to stay! "

June 2010 — "For a weekend getaway with my friends, we wanted to find a hotel that was in the centre of Banff and easy to get around town. Getting to the Hotel was very easy and we walked to and from the hub of town within minutes. When we got up to the room, I was pretty impressed. Very spacious and the saunas and pool was very nice and convenient. Though, different from the pictures online, it is still passable, but be aware that the saunas and the steam rooms are closed by 10:30, which really doesn't leave much for entertainment. Now, onto the negatives. The parking area is ridiculously tight and looks like it's from a creepy movie. So it definitely tests your parking skills. Breakfast is suppose to have come with our hotel reservations, but be warned that it is served before 10:00 am SHARP. Nothing after that. Our room was fine, but the metal part of the door seemed like it was falling apart. Even while checking out, the guests were complaining that the light bulb had blown up when they turned on the lights. So, I question their maintenance of the hotel. "

The hotel’s guestroom renovation project will be finished by December 31, 2010 and once complete, all photo images on our website will be updated. The two outdoor hot tubs are open from 9am – 10pm daily. They are closed at 10pm to ensure the peace and tranquility of those guests who are trying to sleep. Our Canadian Rockies Continental Breakfast is served from 7am – 10am and is included in all room rates.
