February 2011 — "My family spent a couple of nights at the Kananaskis Delta for the family day long weekend. We had heard great things about the long weekend events that they plan for families and especially kids to enjoy. When we arrived, we were greeted as we drove up to the front lobby. They asked us for our name, and told us to drive up. As we arrived to the main bag drop off area, someone else was there to open the car door and advise us that we could check in. The check in process was easy and they were well prepared for our early check in. We had 3 options for parking: valet, underground, and surface self parking. We chose the surface self parking as it was free of charge, and within close walking distance to the hotel. Over the course of the weekend, there were indeed many many family activities available. A schedule was provided to us, some of the activities we had to sign up for in advance. Fortunately, we were able to attend to most activities that we wanted. For the ones we did not get in, the indoor pool and hot tub was a hit for the kids. We also rented cross country skis on our last day, and our family thoroughly enjoyed this activity. We would definitely go back to the Delta in Kananaskis. A great family hotel, plenty of activities and within close driving proximity to Calgary."

"Dissapointing Hotel"

February 2011 — "My husband and I spent 2 nights on the weekend before Valentines day hoping for a romantic stay and for over 560$ for 2 nights we could have easily spent the 2 nights somewhere else in the mountain resorts! The room we had the walls were paper thin, constant noise and partying till 4am both nights( we had to wear earplugs) , we were in the family lodge I guess. Both remotes for both TVs did not work at all and they sent people to come look at it and they said thats just the way it is and the fireplace was no more than a nightlight flame! Bathroom very tiny and had to ask for complimentary water that was not in the fridge. The whole design of the room is very outdated. Its unfortunate that people will pay the money just for the location close to the ski resort and I think this is what the hotel is banking on since its the only hotel in the Kananaskis area. Service was good but the room was really dissapointing, we will never stay here again! "

"Lovely Getaway"

March 2010 — "I recently went on a trip to do some spring skiing at Nakiska and stayed overnight at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis. It is a lovely hotel. The hotel is decorated very traditionally and our room was very spacious with huge windows looking into the forest. The room had everything we could possibly need and more (who needs two phones in a hotel room?!?), the beds were lovely and the bathroom was very clean with a selection of nice toiletries. We used the pool and indoor/outdoor hot tub and found them to be very clean and enjoyable. At night, we were thrilled to discover a very lively pub onsite full of young hotel workers blowing off some steam. The wide variety of restaurants is very appealing, and we had dinner at the Fireweed Grill before heading to the pub. The service was excellent and we were allowed a late check-out with no problems. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and would actually prefer to stay there than drive further to stay at some of the other hotels."

"June Wedding"

June 2008 — "My daughter and I were guests of my neice's wedding at the Kananaskis Resort in June of this year. We reside in the Boston area and this was our first visit to Alberta and didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival and our stay was very enjoyable. The wedding ceremony was celebrated outdoors. The weather was especially warm and delightful. The resort wedding planner did an exceptional job coordinating the wedding site, the reception following, and the dinner following that. The buffet-style food was varied and delicious. The staff was very accommodating to any suggestions posed by an invited guest to this particular wedding. We had a wonderful time at the resort; my daughter especially. since there were many, many guests within her age group. The breakfast grill room had a wonderful choice of food on the buffet table and the prepared-to-order omelets were a treat. The scenery surrounding the resort is spectacular! I wish we had more time to explore deeper into the Rocky Mtns. "

"Comfort in the Mountains"

October 2007 — "I love that there are very limited choices of hotels to stay at in Kananaskis but even if there was more choice, the Delta Lodge would still be a where I would want to spend the weekend. The Delta has been there for some time and although some of the rooms are in need of a reno, the hotel is still a luxury. We got one of the un renovated rooms at first but they were quick to please when we asked for an upgrade to a room with a king sized bed. They found a room for us in the Executive club so that we also got daily appetizers and breakfast included. The customer service is fantastic and this upgrade was an additional treat. There is not a lot to do in Kananaskis but that is part of the beauty of it. The Delta has a couple restaurants and lounges and a great recreational facility and spa. There is an indoor pool, an indoor/outdoor hot tub and a small gym with all the necessary equipment. Although I did not take part in any actual spa treatments, it looked like a beautiful spa with all the usual treatments offered. The hotel is part of the village and is located right by a number of hiking trails and a short shuttle to Nakiska ski hill. The scenery is amazing from every window and patio and would be a great place to hold a wedding or other special event. The hotel lobby often has a pianist playing by the fireplace where you are welcome to sit and relax. There are a few stores in the hotel but they sell primarily touristy stuff or stuff you might need at elevated prices. The Delta Lodge in Kananaskis is the perfect place to go for a quiet but comfortable weekend getaway in the Rockies."
