December 2012 — "I've stayed at a few different places in Banff over the past couple of years and, for the most part, they've all been very nice but very similar. On a recent weekend visit, my friend and I stayed at Buffalo Mountain Lodge and I was impressed by one detail that was unique to the other spots I've stayed - an indoor, wood-burning fireplace. It was the perfect touch for a visit during a cold, snowy night. I can imagine it would also be nice on a cool summer evening. It made the room extra cosy and was a great spot to sit with a glass of wine and a chat. The rest of the room was pretty standard but nice. The bathroom a bit outdated but the room rate was quite reasonable so I wasn't expecting anything fancy. One of the only complaints is there was no room service or fridge in the room so, other than the restaurant in the main lodge, we had to go into town to get food and drinks. The staff were all courteous and we had a very nice stay. "

October 2007 — "Buffalo Mountain Lodge is just a few minutes up the mountain from Banff. It is made up of chalets which hold about 6 rooms in each. Our room had soaring ceilings, a fireplace, all wood interior and a huge luxurious bathroom. The bathroom had a claw foot bathtub. It stayed hot for over an hour! There was a separate shower enclosed in dark rock walls. There is a large outdoor hot tub and a weight room as well. The setting is beautiful. It feels like a true mountain lodge. There is a restaurant on site as well. The beds are very comfortable and there are TV’s in the rooms. There are large windows, but many large trees around for privacy. The front entrance to the lodge is very grand. You feel like “high-society” walking in there. The staff are very friendly and there is a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were a bit wet so they were slippery. We have stayed at Buffalo Mountain Lodge a few times and will definitely go back. It is a bit pricey, at over $250 per night, but there are always deals to be had!"
