October 2011 — "The Brookdale Manor bed and breakfast in Brigus is a great place to stay if you ever want to investigate the area just west of St. John's. There are several bed and breakfast options in the Brigus area but the Brookdale Manor is one of the cheapest. However, it does not disappoint. It is located just off the highway outside of town so it's nice and quite. The proprietors are friendly and helpful but not overly intrusive. They will make your breakfast whenever you want it. They serve fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, toast, and juice. The bedrooms are Spartan but have everything a traveller might need. The rooms are cheap at only $100 a couple. The living room is very comfortable and they have cable tv. They don't seem to have wireless connectivity. The property used to be a farm and still looks idealistic. I recommend staying at the Brookdale Manor in Brigus."
