July 2013 — "I asked for and received a lake view room on the second floor of one of the chalet style buildings at this very picturesque resort. I'd read in other reviews that this selection offered the best view and was not disappointed. There is a shared porch in front of the room, where guests can enjoy morning tea or afternoon refreshment. The hotel location is excellent, a 10 minute drive into Jasper. We found the hotel restaurant to be excellent as well. There is a nice hiking trail beginning in the parking lot, but don't forget the bug spray. Pyramid lake is clear and cold but makes for a nice swim on a hot day; however, the resort's beach is a bit too weedy. The dock makes the best entry point. No power boats are allowed so the lake is ideal for a paddle. Rental of canoes, paddle boats and kayaks are a bit pricey. Also, the kayaks are really just pontoon boats. "

"Coast Pyramid a paradise...except for the bed"

September 2011 — "The Pyramid, set alongside the pristine Pyramid Lake, has a variety of accommodations, ranging from standard and up. Some suites have lofts, and others have fireplaces, kitchenettes and separate bedrooms; some are in the chalet style buildings while others are in what look more like cabins and also in larger buildings (more like a hotel). Our chalet style room was furthest away from the lake but had a wonderful view from the balcony and living room window, compared to many of the other rooms. We were on the second floor of the chalet, definitely better than being on the first floor as their view was obstructed by the cars in the parking lot. The gas fireplace pumped out a lot of heat and made our room cozy. Real cutlery, glasses and mugs were provided, as well as a TV. It was the perfect little room in many ways, and was very clean. The only real complaint about this room, sadly, was the bed. It seemed like a small queen – I think it seemed smaller because it sloped in towards the centre so it wasn’t comfortable. And for whatever reason, the bedding kept sliding off! All night long we were continually pulling our blankets back onto the bed. They were slippery and heavy so maybe that was it. At any rate, we had a rotten night’s sleep, which was too bad as we paid $179.00 for the room! For us, this was a lot of money. The morning was great – we took a canoe out on the lake while it was still sunny and windless and had a terrific time. Check-out was noon and breakfast was available until 11 am, which we very much appreciated as we didn’t feel rushed. I guess other than the bed, I’d recommend this hotel – the staff were terrific and friendly…just too bad about that stupid bed. We did tell the front desk and they seemed to hear us – the room number is 71 in case you are planning to stay – you may want to find out if they changed the actual bed. "

"What a View!"

September 2011 — "We stayed at the Coast Pyramid Resort at Pyramid Lake, about 5 km outside of Jasper. We rented one of the chalet rooms. Upon opening the door on arrival I was stunned by my first impression. Beautiful color combinations and what a view! We also had all the amenities for cooking up some good meals if we got in the mood. The lake was crystal smooth and the mountains with its golden trees reflected into the lake. We were able to sit on our balcony and drink in the beauty of the day and the sunset was fantastic as well. We also enjoyed our fireplace and television in the evening. On the less posiitive side, the bed itself was not worthy of such a nice room. I have slept on better beds in 60 dollar rooms and this room set us back $179 including tax! To be on par with most Coast Hotel, the beds and the linen should have been of a higher qualityl As a matter of interest, canoes, kayaks, and electric boats are available for rent at the lobby. (About 30 bucks for an hour) "
