June 2008 — "During the Wildflower Festival at Waterton Park this June, we arrived without an accommodation reservation which had us a little worried. After seeing No Vacancy on a couple of places, we turned into the Aspen Lodge complex that is just off main street to the west. Not only did they have room, they had a discount price. The rooms were clean. Although there was no air conditioning, the fans brought in fresh mountain air so that was not a problem. Parking was right in front of the door though there were more cars than parking spots by the end of the evening. Parking was also provided in the back. If you do not like the door opening outside, this will not be for you. If you like to step into your room without carrying luggage up stairs, you'll be grateful. Service personnel at the desk were polite and helpful. One shock was that the office door was locked when we went to pay as they did not have enough staff to open early that day. We would go to this motel/hotel again as the location is excellent, the price was $108 before tax per room at that time, and a variety of restaurants are in the vicinity. As we walked nearby we saw a doe with her fawn, an addition to the overall ambience. "
