December 2011 — "If you are looking for the hotel with everything; great service, beautiful rooms, wonderful restaurants and the best location in town, don't look any further than the Hotel Grand Pacific. Located on the inner harbour, right beside the Parliament buildings, and the U.S. ferry service, it is perfect. You can utilize their Valet parking, or if you arrive with a vehicle there is parking beneath the hotel, at a charge. Their reception staff is excellent, extremely pleasant and accommodating. On this particular occasion, we were attending a Christmas Party nearby, checking in was a breeze and the hotel had offered winter discounts, so we were expecting a standard room, with a partial view of the harbour for $89.00. What a wonderful surprise when we were offered a junior suite for the same price. Our room was on the 3rd floor facing the beautiful parliament buildings. Our room had double doors, upon entering, we enjoyed a huge seating area, with a 4 person chesterfield, 2 highback chairs, a kingsize bed, a table with chairs for 2, large TV strategically located in the armoir. The bathroom was huge, a bar area with a sink, coffee maker and bar fridge and safe, then you entered a massive bathroom; oversize tub, dual sinks, and 4 oversize bath towels. What an absolute treat. We totally enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend this gem in Victoria."

The 50 best-dressed teddy bears in Victoria will be on display at the elegant Hotel Grand Pacific in downtown Victoria as part of Bear Wear, the signature fundraising event of the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. The dressed-up bears will be displayed in the lobby of the Hotel Grand Pacific throughout the holiday season and are available for purchase by silent auction. Bears are dressed and donated by local businesses and include many valuable extras like restaurant and activity packages, celebrity memorabilia, toys, recreational equipment and original art.

Come down to the Hotel Grand Pacific, view the bears and bid on a favourite. Kids under age fourteen are invited to enter the free raffle for a chance to take a very unique teddy home for the holidays.

The Grand Pacific Open

Open to all ages, this annual chess tournament is the largest in BC and features a six-round FIDE and CFC-rate Swiss main event. Numerous other side events and informal tournaments are available to participants during the four-day open.
