January 2009 — "I am a single 45 year old woman who pulled up to Minden on Business and had limited choices for hotels/ motels other than ski resorts that were out to the area and out of budget. I pulled up to the curb very apprehensive about what I was about to do. I went into the restaurant and asked the restaurant attendee if I could get a room for the night and she was just as charming as you could possible imagine. I paid for the room, very skeptical, as I didn't have much choices and then she showed me to my room. Although there was no security lock on the inside of my motel room from the inside, it was the most charming room I have seen. Very nicely decorated. From the beautiful laminant floors to the stylish chairs, the charming tiles on the bathroom walls, the beautifully decorated bed and bedspread, the artwork on the walls and the area rug and quaint country window coverings, I felt like a princess. The room was a little cold but each room has its own baseboard heater that I can set to my desired temperature. I turned it all the way up as the room was a might chilly. It was close to 5:00 PM when I checked in and therefore thought I should get something to eat. As there was not much in the way of restaurants in town and each seemed to be comparable to one another, I decided that I woud just stay there and have dinner... besides... it smelled delicious... so after changing out of my suit, I went downstairs and went for supper. The cook was another charmer who made my Haddock and fries dinner, even though they said that their specialty was hamburgers. It was delicious and fast. The staff was extremely accomodating to me and allowed me to bring my laptop into the dining room to continue my work while I dined and I worked while I ate. This wasn't necessarily a motel style environment but a bed and breakfast type of feel... I will come to the Dominion Hotel any time I am in the area... whether I'm on business or with my family... What a great bunch of people and great environment. Beautiful stay... people were very friendly and courteous, as well as accomodating. What a family feel to it. I ended up working until the restaurant closed at 8:00 PM and then retired up to my room and continued my work.... Real Five Star restaurant, hotel experience with a bed and breakfast feel and A Class people."
