June 2008 — "The Banff Trail motel is definitely not the best stay in Calgary. It is located close to the Motel Village and quoted the lowest price for that area but there was a reason it was the lowest. The room was Spartan and un-welcoming, it looked like it had been pieced together with a kitchen unit in the corner. There was a TV and wireless Internet that worked some of the time we were there. The tap dripped all night in the bathroom and there was only one towel provided in the double room, no soap and one toilet roll. The air conditioning was deafening and we felt a little nervous about having the window open. I am not sure why but the room temperature was hot despite it being cold outside, especially in the morning. Unless every other room in Calgary is full, I wouldn’t recommend staying here, although it was the cheapest priced place in the Motel Village area. "
