August 2008 — "We spent our first night of our long adventure in the Motel au Rocher in Cap-Saint-Ignace, Quebec, less than half way to our destination. My partners checked out the rooms, in particular the bedding, before agreeing to the rental. The room was fine with me, knowing that you get what you pay for (and we paid little). However, I could have done without the lengthy conversation between my partners (regarding bed bugs).
I appreciated the restaurant immediately next door to the rooms, in addition to the gas bar and depanneur (convenience store) across the road. We were all too tired to investigate the televisions or the tubs. Our partner’s room was so stuffy that he slept with the front door open, only the screen separated him from the parking lot.
My other partner and I had stayed here back in the ‘90s. I thought it was new at the time. It doesn’t smell new any more."
