January 2009 — "I stay at franchises of Microtel because I can depend on high value. On a recent trip to greater Rochester, my expectations were met as usual. The cost is low. The room is small but it is clean. The no smoking room had never been smoked in. This motel in Victor is surrounded by places to eat (a very short drive or a long walk): Denny’s, Chili’s, Wendy’s and Burger King. You can even visit P. F. Chang’s restaurant by driving over the thruway. A motel neighbour had just ordered in a local pizza and was delighted with the food. Check with front desk for the za. I am fascinated by the tiny side-bed that rests over the heater (air conditioner) and under the window. However, I have yet to see any one actually use such a bed for sleeping. Upon entry, my room seemed awfully warm. Eventually, I realized that the bed lining is so thin (I found no blankets in the room) that the heat needs to be turned up. I’m a bathtub freak. I would have loved a soak but I hadn’t brought any cleanser. The walls to my room seemed a little thin once my nearest neighbours had moved in for the night. However, the heater, kicking in regularly, blocked out most of that noise."
