July 2009 — "What a beautiful setting - overlooking a trickling creek with the backdrop of rocky crags and towering trees…and wild turkeys a'roostin' in the trees above - they make daunting silhouettes in the dusky light! The cabin was really fun and well air-conditioned; a beautiful porch allowed us to sit and listen for the elusive Flaming Trojan (yes, it is a real bird). The cabin itself had everything we needed, and was a self-serve breakfast. Not enough coffee provided but fine other than that. My one complaint is that it was a bit dirty - the blinds in the bedroom were filthy (aka thick with dust) and we had to remove a dead mouse (actually, a live one too, from the garbage can)…but, it is important to remember we were in the thick of the woods, so rodents et al. weren't a big problem - almost to be expected in an old cabin…but please clean the blinds (and a couple of the walls) - no excuse for that. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and all in all we really enjoyed our stay. I recommend this place - for $95 a night, Cabin 3 is a fantastic choice if you want privacy, a beautiful setting, a terrific porch to sit and quietly enjoy the serenity - oh, maybe not at 4:30 when the Turkeys wake up...sigh..but the rest of the time! A great spot!"
