November 2010 — "This is a mixed review. When I made the reservations on the phone, I was told that we would have one of the new rooms. When we arrived and entered the well kept office area I was feeling hopeful. The office staff told us that our room was accessible around the back of the building and was situated behind the pub. We drove around to the back. The parking area looked rough. We had to park in an area a little distance away from our room and walk through a narrow area past the dumpster to reach the door of our room. The door looked old and weathered along the bottom from moisture. Once we entered the room we found a room that was clean and freshly redone with new flooring and neutral colored walls. The bathroom was large and had space to lay out our toiletries. The tub surround looked clean, but closer inspection the next morning showed hardwater residue of waterdrops. One of the lights next to the bed didn't work. Upon inspection we saw that it wasn't plugged in and needed an extension cord to reach the outlet. There was a light burnt out in the ceiling light too. We went to the office and told the staff member who assured us that he would tend to it right away. We left to do some shopping and when we got back the lighting situation had been fixed. When we settled in for the evening, we became aware that the kitchen for the pub was located on the other side of the bathroom wall. Though somewhat muffled we could hear people talking, walking, and cleaning dishes. Then outside, somewhere on the roof we could hear something thudding throughout the night - perhaps a kitchen vent? Once we realized that it wasn't anything serious, we were able to get to sleep. The bed was clean and comfortable. The pillows used for sleeping were stiff and hard and uncomfortable at first until my body adjusted to it. An extra blanket was in the closet. The window blinds were made up of slats, some of which had been bent and should be replaced. It was cold outside and the room was quite warm and toasty. We looked for a thermostat to reduce the room temperature, but couldn't locate it. There was a small electric fireplace in the corner with a television sitting on top. There was a small clock sitting on the chest of drawers, but it wasn't working. We discovered that the battery was missing. Overall, we slept well. "
