August 2010 — "We spent some time in Golden this summer and stayed at the Ponderosa Motor Inn for a couple of nights. It is a basic hotel conveniently located just off the main highway. The room was clean enough but a little outdated and dingy. They offer a light continental breakfast and we made our other meals in the little kitchenette in our room. It was well stocked with all that we needed, including dishes, serving bowls and pots and pans. We had a room overlooking the creek and it was quiet in spite of the hotel being so near the highway. The check-in staff were friendly and efficient and the cleaning staff came in as needed during our stay. It had ample parking and a restaurant adjacent to the hotel. I think it was a little overpriced for what it is ($110-$160 per night for a double room in the high season) but Golden is a major tourist destination and this was one of the best rates I could find."
