March 2010 — "To attend our cousin's hockey tournament in Brossard, we stayed in the Holiday Inn mid-town. The hotel was also hosting tournament participants. With this fact in mind (the potential for midnight play time in the hallways), we decided to pay a small premium to stay on one of the secured corporate floors. It was well worth the extra dollars. Occasionally, conversational noises still entered our room from next door and across the hall. We didn't have better sound proofing, just different neighbours. We heard no noises from the floor above. While we enjoyed a room on the 17th floor, our cousins endured life down on the 9th floor. Their room came with beer caps and limes on the floor between their beds (from previous guests). The nearest functioning ice machine was located on the 12th floor. Security continued to clear the ninth floor hallways of partyers through 5:30 in the morning. I thought it strange that the tournament hotel was located so far from the arena. It may have been chosen for its location central to tourist sites or it may have been the only hotel willing to host teenage hockey players. The hotel advertises the largest salt-water pool in the city. Members of our party tried many times to visit the pool, only to find the hours of operation too limited. "
