July 2010 — "The Rundle Mountain Lodge lies in the hotel and motel area in Canmore (which is close to Banff National Park), within walking distance of the town center. We had stayed once before at this place many years ago and had enjoyed our stay back then. The Lodge has a cute and rustic exterior that blends well into the landscape and features a small, but clean indoor swimming-pool. It also has an outdoor hot tub. However, this was being renovated at the time of our stay. There is also a barbeque that guests can use, a small playground area and free wireless internet access. All of the front desk and cleaning staff that we interacted with were friendly and efficient and were happy to provide us with hiking and restaurant suggestions. We chose one of the cedar log units that had 2 Queen beds and a kitchen. One of the beds was in the main room, the other in a separate bedroom. At 130$ per night for four people these units are a great deal and are particularly well suited for families. We found the rooms to be clean and cozy, with a table and a kitchenette that had all the essentials, including pots, dishes etc.. The only issue we had was a very noisy climate control unit that could only be switched off by flipping the fuse switch. However, we enjoyed our stay despite this and ended up staying for 3 instead of 2 nights as we had originally planned. "
