December 2008 — "We stayed at gold canyon a week over Christmas while visiting relatives in the area. The only real issues we had were personal taste related and may not matter to others. The room was large and the bathroom huge, however the layout of the bathroom was very wasteful of space and if you are broad shouldered like myself you will find simply using the toilet difficult since the space is tiny with the handicap bar digging into your body. I've been to many resorts and always wonder why they use the cheapest possible shower head, this resort does this also. The shower head was barely usable. The mini fridge was overstocked and we had to remove several items in order to use it for our own food. The lack of a microwave oven at any resort strikes me as odd. The bed was not bad in our opinion and although this is a personal thing we think it deserves a mention as we've slept in some very bad mattresses while traveling. I think that any room costing over $100 per night should have free wireless internet access, although we were able to connect for free in the lobby. The food at the two restaurants was fairly good and the Sunday brunch buffet was very nice. The new bartender needs to learn how to mix drinks and we switched to soda after a few truly nasty cocktails. "
