December 2010 — "My wife and I were fortunate enough to spend three fantastic nights at Storm Mountain Lodge. I had never been here and hadn't even heard of it, but she had certainly done her research. Just 20 minutes or so past Banff on the highway to Radium is this hidden little resort that makes you feel like you're a million miles from the city. We had one of the original 1922 log cabins with a wood-burning fireplace and it was majestic. They only have 14 cabins, each on a good piece of forested area with a deck. They were absolutely stunning in the winter with all the snow and the Christmas lights were a nice touch, as was the Christmas tree with lights that they brought to our deck for inside the cabin. You are supplied with plenty of wood and if you need more, you can go to the front desk and get some free of charge. The cabins are rustic yet luxurious. We spent hours and hours just reading by the fire, enjoying a glass of wine and taking naps in the comfortable bed. The bathroom also has a deep tub and there is plenty of hot water. If you're looking for a romantic getaway with no distractions of tv, Internet etc, this is the place for you. We dined in the restaurant for both lunch and dinner and both were delicious. The lodge itself has a welcoming atmosphere and a large fireplace that is perfect to enjoy a drink in front of. The staff were all very friendly and our stay at Storm Mountain Lodge was beyond anything I could have expected. We will definitely be back!"
