November 2010 — "I realize it was the Grey Cup weekend, but it was still price gouging. The management response to not having any hot water one morning was a complimentary gift bag containing little potato chip and peanut packages. Great . . . unless you are allergic?! The wait for elevators was laughable on Grey Cup morning. A lot of guests ended up taking the stairs. I will not be recommending this hotel for weekend or special event stays. "

May 2010 — "When I first started, I guess I expected a little too much from The Ramada Hotel. I guess that teaches me not to have such high expectations. When my friend went up to Edmonton for training, we went up together and stayed here for a couple of nights. I mean, it was alright, but like most of the other trainees, the beds were especially hard and lumpy, meaning we really didn't get such a good nights rest. The rooms were fairly clean, but were dim and not overly appealing. Unfortunately,our room was not cleaned every day, which means that the condiments and supplies were not replenished. And housekeeping came into the room unexpectedly, early in the morning and wasn't really paying much attention to the guests. The service desk didn't seem to be very efficient to me. We had to stand in line for over half an hour to try to get a coupon to get some breakfast, which was suppose to be have been for free with our reservations anyway. Not impressed."

November 2008 — "A situation arose in which a family member was booked for a 6:30 a.m. diagnostic treatment at the Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton. When I called to request a reservation, I indicated that we may or may not need to stay two nights. (Being about 1 1/2 hours away, it made sense to stay the night before). The reservation staff member was extremely supportive, and willing to accommodate the possibility of one or two nights. Not only that, she offered, provided we bring an official statement from the doctor, a medical rate for the time period. This was a substantial discount, and much appreciated. The hotel is on Kingsway Avenue, and just a few minutes drive from the hospital. The hotel is undergoing upgrading, and the north wing we were in has not had that yet, but we found it to be very quiet, clean, and the temperature control was excellent. The courtyard is a great place for 'getting a bit of exercise' We found any staff members with whom we had contact to be very pleasant. The restaurant is open from early morning to 10:00 pm. There are also a gift shop, computer room, lounge, games room, exercise room, sports bar, and conference facilities to supply many needs in the community. Being situated near a small airport and a good-sized mall are also plus features. This was a pleasant surprise for us."
