September 2008 — "The Canmore Mountain Lodge is just off the TransCanada on Canmore. As you drive up, it is quite pretty and has ample parking. The front reception area is small, but welcoming, with a computer for guest use and a lot of local area maps and activity information. The lodge has some pet friendly rooms, which we stayed in as we brought our puppy. Our room was a good size, but as I imagined being a pet-friendly room, the carpet had some stains on it. The bathroom was also a good size, but the shower was in need of some good scrubbing. There was a small gym that you had to walk through to get to the outdoor hot tub. We were not sure if there was a changing area, so we changed into our bathing suits in our hotel room. The hot tub was very nice. It is quite private as there are tall fences and a large tree over hangs it. It is open until 11pm and could hold 10 people. Our beds were decent and the room had a sliding patio door to the back alley. The halls were fairly quiet and the lodge did not appear to be too busy. There was a restaurant attached to the lodge which was very convenient. The room was about $160 per night. I would stay there again if I was traveling with pets."
