July 2009 — "The wonderful thing about this hotel is that it usually gets used by businesswoman/man, who come in to the city and have to stay for at least few days. We got a suite on the 28th floor and we had a nice view of the city. The suite had a kitchen and a living room. The decor was modern. The hotel is doing its part to be green, so they ask you to not use turndown and laundry services everyday, but only when you need to. Which is quiet refreshing. It is a quiet hotel with lots of restaurant (the is one on the first floor of the hotel), cafes and little convenience store nearby. Highly recommend it. "

June 2009 — "This was our first time at 5 Calgary, and we must say that the hotel actually exceeded all our expectations. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming (including housekeeping). They all displayed great customer service, and were well informed, knowledgeable and efficient. We stayed three nights in a one-bedroom suite, which was absolutely clean, roomy, cozy and comfortable. There was plenty of open space in the kitchen and living room to maneuver around. The bedroom also had plenty of open space for luggage, and the bed was absolutely comfortable. Despite all other reviews on this hotel, we had no problem with the air conditioning. We found the location of the hotel to be prime; it was within walking distances to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping centres, etc. for those who want to stay downtown. However, a few things to be cautioned about. The washroom may be a little tight if two people are trying to access it at the same time. The fitness room is not as big as it looks (in the picture) with few equipments. We stayed away from the (outdoor) pool since it was littered with flies and various insects. However, the sauna room is worth a visit if you want to relax at night before bed. Since we booked in advance and only paid $103/night including taxes for this hotel, it was definitely well worth our stay. This hotel is now at the top of our list the next time we visit Calgary."
