April 2010 — "We we're caught in the middle of a snowstorm and the roads were horrible. We were pretty well forced to stay in the community of Grasslands. We looked up reviews for hotels in the area and only found one, the Grasslands Motel. After reading the awful review it was given we were concidering staying in the car, crazy I know. However we thought we'd go take a look at the rooms anyway.
We asked to see the room, and found out it was a lot better than the review had been describing. It was clean... And so were the sheets. It seemed like there were new mattreses, table, and so on. We were sold so we went to pay for the room and got chatting with the owner. He happened to mention that him and his wife had just moved there and just bought the place. Then we mentioned the bad reviews we had read. He was greatful for that and checked out the review himself.
Please ignore any old reviews of the Grasslands Motel!

August 2007 — "We stayed at this motel for the long weekend. Our rooms were not cleaned even once in 4 days nor were our beds even made or the floors vacumed or the bathrooms cleaned. The sheets were never changed and the sheets that were on the beds were still from the previous guests. We got that fixed but then came the problem with towels. There were 3 people in our room and all we ever got were 2 sets of towels when we asked for all 3 of us. When I did get towels the person at the desk gave me some clean towels that they used for the floor and was told that they should be ok to use because they just came out of the dryer.The whole motel was booked for the long weekend as we had a family reunion there. Most of the rooms were booked months ago by people from as far away as Vancouver with a full deposit put down but upon arrival people were finding that their rooms were not available only to be told that it was there fault and not the owner of this motel This is the only motel in this town and the owner did all he could to make all of us feel not welcome at his establishment. I had been quoted a price over the phone in December when I booked and when I got there the price was $20 more per night than quoted and most other people that I talked to were also charged a higher rate than first quoted when booking. For the price being charged there is very little value offered for the price being charged and mid service is almost non existant."
