August 2011 — "We arrived to Cranbrook at 11pm to check into the Super 8, where we had made a reservation weeks before hand. I was super cranky and tired when we got there and was very relieved that the staff were so friendly and made our check in so easy and hassle free. Our room smelled a bit like old cigarettes, but most old motels these days do, even if the rooms are non-smoking. All of the rooms were probably smoked in for years. The bathroom was clean and there were plenty of nice towels for our showers in the morning. I climbed right into bed and fell asleep immediately and had a wonderful sleep in the comfortable bed. I woke up feeling very rested and ready to face the rest of our drive that day! Thank you Super 8 for a good night's rest at a good price. Perhaps we will see you again some time! "

August 2011 — "The Super 8 in Cranbrook is a good place to get a decent room at a good price with solid, friendly customer service. We stayed a night on our way through on our summer vacation to BC. The service was friendly at check in, and although we were only there to sleep and then hit the road in the early morning, we still enjoyed the comfort and cleanliness of the room. Obviously it's an older hotel, but things were clean and the beds comfortable. They serve a continental breakfast in the morning, and although we didn't try it, we poked our heads in and had a look. It didn't look bad at all! Cereal, toast, orange juice and coffee...all that you would expect from a standard continental breakfast. The front counter was really nice upon checkout, asking how our stay was etc. If we ever go back through Cranbrook and need a hotel, I'm sure we will check in to the Super 8 again! "

"Average Overnight Stay with little comforts"

August 2011 — "We stayed in Cranbrook again this summer for a night, as it was our half way point from our final destination between Calgary AB and Nelson BC. We decided to save a little bit of money to stay at the Super 8 Motel. The friends of ours who didnt have a reservation booked a room when we got there. They were put into a very shabby part of the motel, the old smokers rooms and pet rooms.
The rooms were run down and in need of a clean makeover. The breakfast in the morning was not much of a breakfast at all. My friends had to pay the same rate for a less than desirable room. I would not stay at this hotel again and would rather pay 20 bucks or more for a better night's stay.

May 2010 — "We hadn’t decided where to stay, because we were not sure how far we would drive, and so we arrived into Cranbrook at 10pm on a Friday night yet to chose a bed for the night. We were not really in the mood to drive around looking for alternatives, so drove into the first chain motel we saw, the Super 8, and that is where we stayed. The girl on the desk was very friendly and welcoming but not pushy and I signed up for a two queen bed room on the second floor (there was no availability for the first floor.) The entrance and lobby were both quite nice looking and there was a relatively large dining area for the free breakfast. The room itself was okay. Not as nice as the lobby might have suggested by its décor. The only really negative element of our stay was the temperature in the room. It was way too warm and despite our putting the air conditioning on ‘high’ it stayed too warm all night. Anyway we had the breakfast the next day, which was a choice of waffles, toast, cereals, oatmeal, muffins, fruit, juices and coffee. I enjoyed the instant oatmeal (a small packet that you cook yourself), toast and an apple. Oh dear, there is something tempting and satisfying about filling up when its ‘free’. So, for me the stay was okay, a typical cheaper chain place."

"A Great Place for Pets!"

April 2009 — "I have stayed at this Super 8 several times and am always very impressed with the service and room quality I've experienced at this hotel, especially when you factor in the price! Having two large dogs, I was afraid that they would not be accepted at this pet-friendly hotel, but the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and even let me know what other big dogs were staying there that night. It costs just $10 extra per dog per night, but it is totally worth it to bring along the entire family. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, our room did not smell like pets, in fact, it was very clean-smelling. Added benefits were that the beds were very comfortable and there is a nice place to walk your dogs near the hotel. Whenever I have to stay in Cranbrook again, I will definitely choose the Super 8."

"Pet-Friendly Perfect!"

July 2008 — "On our way to Nelson from Calgary, we decided to spend the night in Cranbrook, which is roughly halfway. We had stayed at the Super 8 Cranbrook seven years ago and remember being satisfied, so decided to check it out again. A main factor in our picking this hotel was that they accept pets, no matter what size. We have a big dog, so that was a great benefit. Also, they offered some packages through their website, including the one that we got... room and a pizza from Domino's for $99.
Upon arrival, the lady that checked us in was very nice and friendly. We were staying on the second floor in a non-smoking room. The main floor appeared to have smoking rooms and I would recommend requesting a room on the second floor because you could really smell the smoke in the hallway in the morning.
The room itself exceeded our expectations. It had two queen-sized beds, a large-screen TV, a table with chairs, a microwave and a fridge. The bathroom and room were very clean. The thing that we loved most about the room was the bed. It was very comfortable and the pillows were too. I think it was even more comfortable than our bed at home.
Another big benefit for pet owners is that there is an old RV park right next door that is semi-fenced and is a great place to let your dog run around.
In the morning I went down to get my wife and I some food off the continental buffet. I had some oatmeal, she had a carrot muffin and there were also some juices available. It was all very good.
When we went to check out it was the same friendly lady from the night before! She works some crazy hours! The Super 8 Cranbrook was definitely worth the money and was better than expected. We will definitely stay there again when passing through Cranbrook. "
