June 2007 — "To say that our family would ever recommend Sunbanks Resort to anyone would be a BIG mistake! We made reservations back in February for our family reunion on June 7, 2007 and left on June 11th. We would have left on June 8th if we would have been able to get our money back (we had to pay the total amount two weeks prior to arriving and no refunds given for early departure). Nothing was said about the noise we would encounter starting at 6AM due to construction of more units - our idea of a vacation is to sleep in - not being woken to the noise of jackhammers etc. One unit assigned to one of our family members was not even ready for their arrival (workmen still in the unit hanging blinds - no door on the unit - when they finally did hang the door they did not put the threshold down and bugs crawled in all duriing their stay. Management knew several months ago about the arrival date. Why were they given an unfinished unit? Unit #5 in the Lago Del Sol Villa was very dirty. Blood stains on a bed sheet, dirty floors, dirt on the nightstand. silverware drawer filthy and the barbeque on the deck was caked with crud. The lighting in the bathroom was a small table lamp sitting right next to the basin and plugged into a regular outlet not a GFI outlet - anyone could get a shock if the lamp fell into water in the basin. We have reported this to the Health Department . Our grandchildren were in Unit #505 - Lake View Villa and left food out over night - the next morning they ate some of the muffins - not knowing that mice were under the range - didn't see them until the night before they checked out. Who knows what the mice may have nibbled on. This too has been reported to the Health Department. Unit #502 (Lake View Villa) the dishwasher would not run a complete cycle and the oven had very little heat - it took 3 hours to bake a lasagna that only takes 90 minutes at home. Trying to find someone in the office to report these things was a task in itself. The Kitchin Family Camano Island, WA"
