July 2011 — "The Comfort Inn & Suites in San Bruno is located right near the airport, but luckily the noise from outside wasn’t too bad. It definitely isn't in the best neighbourhood, but free covered parking is available under the hotel so that was a relief. A few times when we pulled in at night we found cops parked underneath the hotel so it actually felt very safe to leave our car down there. The location is decent for driving into San Fran (only about 30 minutes), but for those without a car I definitely recommend staying closer to the city because the transit isn't convenient from here. I think that this hotel is mostly used by people going to the airport though, since they offer a free shuttle over to SFO frequently. The continental breakfast provided by the hotel was good, with a nice selection, but there were only three tables in the breakfast area so it got very cramped in the morning. One of my favourite things about the hotel is the skylight in the main atrium connecting the rooms on the second floor (see the attached picture), which made it easy to see what the weather was like before we got outside and it brightened up the hallways. The fountain with no water in it in the middle of the room was just tacky though. We stayed for two nights and somehow Thursday night was more expensive ($108) than Friday night ($103), which we found very puzzling and couldn't figure out. The price for a night seems pretty high but compared to the hotels actually in San Fran, this hotel is reasonable. The room was big, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was pretty clean so overall we were happy with our stay."
