October 2007 — "We stayed at The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast in October and had the best stay! The hosts were gracious and friendly, the home itself was gorgeous, filled with period pieces, yet comfortable. We had not been to a B&B before The Claiborne House and were a bit concerned about being around other people during our stay. We usually stay at hotels for the privacy factor. But we were pleassantly surprised! The Claiborne House was very private, very quiet and we did our thing. No curfew - they gave us the front door code and we were off to see the sights. We did not have to conform to some sort of schedule, in fact we had breakfast delivered to our room, which was The Wash House Cottage. It was the perfect getaway! We highly recommend The Claiborne House Bed and Breakfast. If you book online you can save $10 per night, but the rates are already very reasonable for the quality and value of the stay. They are in a perfect location to visit Smith Mountain Lake AND The Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a super time! The Cottage is a quaint little stand alone building with a heap of history. We will be back!!"
