August 2007 — "We spent the weekend at Boulton Creek Campground this August and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Located just 1.5 hours from Calgary, it was a very convenient place to just get away. The campground itself was very well set-up. You enter and register at the grocery/souvenir shop and there are about five or six camping loops that have about 20 stalls each for a total of just over 100.
The nice thing about this campground is that the sites are quite large and as far as I could see, most were pretty treed in. Ours was fantastic. We had a small hill at the back of our site with lots of trees. We were very secluded compared to other campsites we've stayed at in the Rockies.
Our loop only had an outhouse that got rather raunchy smelling by the end of the weekend, but there is a shower house and toilets with running water nearby. There is also a restaurant, but we didn't try it out.
Most nights of the week during the summer they offer interpretive programs and we attended the play put on at night at the ampitheatre. It was extremely hilarious. It was all about trees - something that doesn't sound that great, but they made it quite comical.
The only downfall of the campground, which is of no fault of the place, was that the very first night there was one campsite of partiers that got a little out of hand. Thank goodness they left the next day. The rest of the people were couples or families from the city and it was very peaceful and quiet after 10pm. Don't stay at Boulton Creek if you want to party!!"
