May 2009 — "My family and I decided to stay in Elkwater during a camping trip in May. There are several campsites located in this Cypress Hills reigion, and we ended up staying in the "Elkwater" one. Yes, the sites are a little close together, but other then that it was really nice. The area is beautiful and there are alot of hiking trails. Also, there is a beach, and lots of different lakes in the area so you will never be bored. The weekend we went everyone was respectful, and there was no noise problems (And the campground was full). I only wish that the campsites were a little bit farther apart as that does get a tad bit annoying. There are 2 little stores, plus a visitor center and dinner so that also adds on things to do. Dogs were allowed, which I loved since I brought my own pooch and she had the chance to meet alot of other dogs. Plus, the bathrooms were always clean (you just had to pay for the showers and there was no outlet to plug in a hair dryer)"
