September 2009 — "While working on a construction site in Sylvan Lake for a few months, I decided to camp in my tent trailer at Jarvis Bay until the weather gets too cold and I will have to move to a hotel. Jarvis Bay Campground is just a few minutes from my job site and the sites can be booked online, which is very convenient. In fact, you can pick exactly what site you want and see what it's close to. Since I was there in the off-season and only spent Monday through Thursday there, I basically had the campground to myself. I think there are well over 100 sites, and on some nights I believe there were probably only three or four other campers in the entire campground. Most of the sites are very treed and I couldn't even see my neighbours had there been any. The showers are very hot and cost about $1 for 2 minutes. The showers are immaculate and new and the bathrooms were nice too. After the September long weekend, the staff either leaves around 4pm or doesn't even come in at all, so you can do self-registration. I really have no complaints about this campground."
