June 2010 — "Been camping here for over 20 years whenever i can. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Campground between the mountains and water, paved trail all around the town for hiking biking, great shoppes nearby, boat rides and the breathtaking tudor style Prince of Wales Hotel looking over the townsite. It's A++ campsites are roomy and they range from tenting to long RV accommodations with all hookups."

August 2008 — "Miraculously we managed to book a site here less than a week before arriving!! I don't how how that happened, but I'm super glad because we got to Waterton at about 10pm on Friday night--way too late to get something at a first-in-first-served campground. The tenting and RV sections here are separate, which is great, because the RV part of the grounds is very flat, boring and crowded. The tenting part is bordered by parking area on two sides (very convenient), a very pretty beach at the other end, and a creek on the other side. The grassy grounds are home to hundreds of cute little ground squirrels, and grassy mounds and a few trees provide sheltered spots. There are three or four kitchen shelters, each with a simple but big wood-fire stove, water taps throughout the grounds, and separate bathrooms for boys and girls. My only complaint here is that there was only one shower each for the girls and boys, so if you don't time it right you could be waiting a while. The hot water runs out too (but hey, it's camping!--hot water is definitely a luxury anyway!). We were pleasantly surprised that a town campground could be so pretty, but then again the town of Waterton itself is gorgeous. Of course a bonus to staying here is that it's a very convenient base from which to explore the park."

July 2008 — "I have decided that it is my goal in life to try to turn up at all destinations without booking ahead and enjoy the nervous thrill of wondering ‘Will I be sleeping in the car this time?’ Fortunately for me the feeling at Waterton National Park did not last long as we joined a half hour line at the entrance to the town site campground and then drove smoothly round the outside of the RV area to the separate tent camping across a creek. As is often the case when the tenting is away from the RVs all vehicles are parked together away from the tents but not too far to carry your gear.
The tenting area was very clearly set up with markers, water taps and tables for each site. It was contoured somewhat like a golf course with a rolling grassy area and a few trees which was good for privacy but not excessive. There were simple covered cooking and dining areas and bathrooms that were small but well formed. Actually the size of the bathrooms was the only major drawback to the camping. We were able to walk just 15 minutes in to the town in the evening for dinner, which was another positive for this campground.
