August 2008 — "Wapiti is a pretty standard campground, offering all the amenities one would expect from organized tent and RV camping. Set in a forest on the Athabasca River, the sites are treed, spacious and reasonably sheltered. Trash bins, and bathrooms with attached kitchen sinks are scattered throughout the campground. The shower facilities are situated at the campground entrance, along with the check-in booth, a mountain of firewood (campfires are permitted at $8.80 per night), and lockers with electrical sockets where you can charge personal electronics. This campground is located just a couple of minutes (by car) south of Jasper townsite and is a convenient base from which to explore the park. And nature lovers will appreciate the many cute little squirrels running about the campsites too."

July 2008 — "Very nice looking campground lots of things to do near by. Have some good places allong the river. Nice and quiet also. Winter Camping is also availible. Pictures Near Wapiti Campground about 20 min away from campground. "

This convenient campground is located just 3.8 km (2.4 mi) from the town of Jasper and offers flush toilets, showers, kitchen shelters and firewood. Reservations are accepted through Parks Canada.
