July 2009 — "Now i dont write reviews on things but could not let this one slip by It is friday june 10 2009 we were going to Miguelan provincial park but when we got there it was full and got turned away. we ended up in this quaint little town called Hayes lake while driving looking for another camp park. Now we have not been in a lot of parks . As camping has come new to use this late in life. However we have stayed in others all the way to northern B C and back to Edmonton. Now this little camp ground in Hayes lake made us speechless it is oval in size not very big but did allow enough travelers in to park thier motor homes which we did what made us speechless was the honor system they have in place there you sign up put your check in the box and thats after you have found a spot and parked then they come around later on to see you to give you a receipt a chap comes around with fire wood 2 times a day even he had a honor system we didn't have cash on us at the time so he says thats ok he will come back tomorrow and see us even drive us into town if we need rather than be driving the motor home back and forth next day he was back late afternoon again with more wood the gas station in town has some sort of deal that allows you to dump the water lines and etc if you have your receipt and even they let us do it with out the receipt and gave us water for our tanks just show the receipt next time she says people in town stores were very friendly and helpful but then again it is the country town atmosphere heck they even came around and invited all the people in the camp ground to a gospel jamboree next door with free food . this is not Alberta not at least what i have seen so far was it anything like the rest of the province, but it was and it shocked me i mean this is a province where everyone has to be number 1 out in front passing then slow down or pass to make a turn 100 ft ahead of you on the highways and with everything else number 1 in everything from 0 to 1 they have to be it. however we did find 1 thing wrong with this park and us we had to leave the park to soon it was early sunday morning around 9 am and we found we could not dump the waste water but can guarantee you we will return to this little quaint park .It was so quiet and peaceful no loud music no idiots around just friendly people that waved or nodded at as they drove by. There was only 1 other place we found even come close it was in McBride British Columbia had the same atmosphere but more to offer there.yep liked it and will be going back"
