August 2011 — "Okanagan Falls Provincial Campground is fairly small and quite attractive. The sites around the perimeter are more private than the ones in the middle which are more exposed. There is a river running along the left side as you enter, and there is a nice walking path that is fairly good for spotting birds like flycatchers and Gray Catbirds. People seemed to be enjoying doing some fishing as well. The fellow that comes around to collect money was very friendly and helpful. He even offered me another tent peg to replace one that was bent out of shape. Apparently he has a collection that others have left. The gates open at seven in the morning and close at ten in the evening. The only problem with that was that I got up early and wanted to go birding up in the mountains but had to wait until seven for the gate to be opened. Luckily there were some good birds at the campground. The camp was very quiet after ten probably because of the onsite security. There are flush toilets, but no showers or sinks. Sites are also on a first come first serve basis, and I believe you can only stay a total of 14 days per season. The cost was $21. "

Just above the Okanagan River, cool deciduous trees provide a contrast to the parched hills above. This oasis is famous among naturalists for its superb bird watching, wildlife viewing, nature study, photography opportunities and a variety of bats. The park has 25 campsites.
